Glen Smith

Glen Smith is a local Geelong based artist and arts educator. His practice is multi-disciplinary and includes painting, printmaking, street art and artist’s books. Over his career, Smith has undertaken over a dozen solo exhibitions and more than one hundred group exhibitions. His recent work investigates the notion of place and aspects that trigger sentimental associations for the viewer. However, previous work has often investigated political and social commentary through an at times humorous or ironic framework. Smith‘s artwork is generally intense in colour, uses graphic imagery and is aesthetically heavy in influence by both urban art and formal painterly approaches.
