"I began this series during the covid-19 2020 lockdown, a time when we were confronted with a level of uncertainty, but also a gift of more time and contemplation. Artistically this set me on a path of reflection and attention to significant natural habitats. The coastal views of the Pink Lakes of South Australia caught my eye as I viewed them virtually, and the aerial views seemed relevant. These works relate to a time where I felt very connected through observation of the natural landscape and the immersion of painting it. The mesmerising colours filtered through my artworks and act as a meditation to the viewer, a point to watch and contemplate, a calm resting place."
