"Mountains and tarns appear as new motifs in my work as I slowly embrace a new environment. My pallet changes too but I still cling to familiar blues and warm pinks. I continue to seek and evoke the magic and mystery that both nature and painting hold as I embrace change."
Ileigh Hellier is an artist from mulubinba (Newcastle), NSW who has recently moved to nipaluna (Hobart) TAS. Ileigh is primarily a painter although she enjoys dabbling in a range of other mediums, with the intent to inform her painting practice. Ileigh has received commended awards in both the Jacaranda Drawing Prize in 2022 and The John Glover Prize in 2020. Her work is held in both public and private collections.
